Kenneth. N. Marsh 教授简介:
Dr. Marsh is a retired Professor of Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Canterbury, New Zealand and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Australia. He is an internationally distinguished scholar in the field of thermophysical properties of fluids.
He received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of New England, Australia, in 1968 under the supervision of Prof. Robin Stokes of electrolyte solution fame. He then took an appointment at The University of New England and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1974. In 1983, he moved to the Thermodynamics Research Center, Texas A&M University, USA, as Associate Director and then as Director in 1985. In 1997 he joined the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
He was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Chemical and Engineering Data of ACS from 1991 to 2010. He was Chairman of the IUPAC Commission of Physicochemical Measurements and Standards, Inaugural Board Member of International Association of Chemical Thermodynamics, and Chairman of IUPAC Project on Thermodynamics of Ionic Liquids, Ionic Liquid Mixtures and the Development of Standardized Systems. In 1996 he was awarded an Honorary Medal by the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Science, for significant contribution to the advancement of Physical Chemistry. His interests include thermodynamic and transport properties of nonelectrolyte solutions, gas hydrates and ionic liquids, and development of new experimental techniques to measure thermophysical properties of fluids, and biomass conversion in ionic liquids. He has published over 200 research papers and is the author, coauthor, or editor of 25 books.
