题  目:Time-resolved study of a nanoscale water bridge: The formation and rupture
摘  要:
The formation and rupture processes of nanoscale water bridges are studied by means of time-resolved dynamic force microscopy. The temporal behaviors of the water bridges, formed between the tip and the substrate, are measured by a force sensor at nanometric gap distances. The dynamic processes such as nucleation, growth, evaporation and rupture of nanoscale water bridges are observed by using this technique. In addition, the thermodynamic stability of the water bridge is also discussed considering the hysteresis curves traced by the tip during the approach-retraction cycle. We believe that one can study not only the mechanical behavior but also the temporal dynamic processes of nanoscale liquid bridges of with this technique.
