为持续推进学院国际化建设进程,拓宽师生国际化学术视野,深化中外高校科研合作与人才培养交流,5月29日,比利时根特大学Joris Thybaut教授一行受邀到访北京化工大学化学工程学院,开展学术报告、合作研讨及实验室参观系列交流活动,为我院师生带来前沿学术成果与国际化合作新思路。
本次学术报告会于工程楼A203顺利举行,由学院副院长孙宝昌教授主持,学院相关专业教师、博士及硕士研究生到场参会交流,现场学术氛围浓厚。本次交流聚焦化工领域前沿研究方向,根特大学来访专家团队依次带来高水平学术报告,内容覆盖面广、科研前瞻性强。
Joris Thybaut教授以《Reaction and Reactor Engineering Intricacies in Bio-Gas Upgradation》为题开展专题报告,系统阐释了生物气体提质技术的研究背景与应用价值,重点围绕生物气体提质过程中的反应机理、反应器工程核心难题与优化策略展开深入讲解,结合前沿研究成果剖析了该领域的技术瓶颈与未来发展趋势,为我院师生在清洁能源转化、气体资源化利用等方向的研究提供了重要参考。

Ouyang Yi副教授带来题为《Process Intensification of CO₂ Capture by HiGee Vortex Technology》的学术分享,聚焦双碳背景下的二氧化碳捕集技术,详细介绍了超重力旋涡技术的核心原理、技术优势与工艺创新,系统展示了该技术在二氧化碳捕集过程强化中的最新研究进展与工程应用潜力,为化工节能减碳、绿色工艺优化提供了全新的研究思路。

César Pernalete Piña博士以《HyProM: a Fundamental Kinetic Model for Industrial Scale Hydroprocesses》为主题,围绕工业加氢工艺智能化发展方向,分享了工业规模加氢过程基础动力学模型HyProM的构建方法、核心算法与实际应用场景,通过详实的数据与案例验证了模型在工业化精准调控、工艺优化、效率提升等方面的重要作用,助力工业化工过程智能化、精准化研究创新。

三场报告内容扎实、视角前沿、贴合化工学科发展热点,涵盖清洁能源转化、碳捕集工艺强化、工业反应动力学建模等多个重点研究领域。报告结束后,在场师生踊跃提问、积极交流,围绕技术原理、实验方法、模型优化、国际合作研究等问题与来访专家展开深入探讨,专家团队逐一细致解答,现场互动氛围热烈浓厚。
此次比利时根特大学教授到访交流,搭建了我院与国外高水平高校优质的学术互通平台,有效促进了中外前沿学术思想、科研成果与研究经验的交流互鉴。常态化的国际化学术交流,不仅拓宽了我院师生的国际化科研视野,激发了跨学科、跨国界科研创新活力,更进一步深化了双方在化学工程领域的科研协作与人才培养合作基础,为学院持续推进国际化办学、提升学科建设水平与高水平人才培养质量注入了强劲动力。
Prof. Joris Thybaut is a Full Professor in Catalytic Reaction Engineering (CaRE) within the Laboratory for Chemical Technology at Ghent University since 2014 where he serves the executive committee. He also directs the Chemical Engineering and Materials Sciences program committee in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.
Joris has published over 250 papers in peer reviewed journals and has (co-)authored 4 books.His research activities evidence a steady evolution from more classical refining reactions to renewables valorisation and circularity, typically involving heterogeneous catalysis and complex reaction networks, either at gas or liquid phase conditions. The common denominator in his research projects is the development of an elementary understanding of the occurring phenomena, be it experimentally or via the construction of (micro)kinetic models. Joris has published over 250 papers in peer reviewed journals and has (co-)authored 4 books.
Yi Ouyang is an Associate Professor at the Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) at Ghent University. His research focuses on process intensification, combining computational fluid dynamics (CFD), visualization and experimental methods, and both theory and data driven approaches to advance the understanding of transport reaction mechanisms and drive reactor innovation.
With over a decade of experience developing novel reactor technologies for multiphase gas liquid and gas solid systems, his work has received recognition through the ERC Starting Grant, the Francqui Start Up Grant, and a former FWO postdoctoral fellowship. He also serves as an editor and board member for journals in the field, including Chemical Engineering Research and Design, Chemical Engineering Journal, and Chemical Engineering and Processing: Process Intensification, reflecting the trust placed in his professional expertise.
